Circus School Takes Me to New Career “Heights”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After creating attention-getting, award-winning campaigns in the region for 10+ years for several high-profile nonprofit organizations, I am excited to announce that my next career step will take me to new heights, literally!

As the new part-time Public Relations and Marketing Manager for the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts I will be focusing solely on public relations and promoting the art of "the impossible."  

The school itself is the regional center of contemporary circus arts.  The seasoned faculty leads a curriculum featuring aerials (static trapeze, corde lisse, aerial silks and lyra), juggling, unicycling, tightwire, tumbling and physical conditioning. In addition to ongoing classes, the School also offers social events, birthday parties, rental space, summer camp and special guest performances. Students are all ages and all levels, coming from locations as close as next door and as far away as Brooklyn, New York.

This 3,200 square foot facility is located in Philadelphia, PA — steps away from Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill, in Germantown.  The address is 3900A Greene Street, Philadelphia, PA 19144.

Executive Director and Founder Shana Kennedy says, "As circus artists, we achieve, every day, things that seem impossible.  And in circus education, we are able to take people out of their everyday lives and immerse them in trying new things."  Promoting classes and activities that can be career and life-altering experiences fits with my career-long mission of promoting opportunities and services that benefit and help others improve their lives – and help them realize that “Impossible is just a word,” as reflected by my website.

Priorities for the school's public relations department over the next few months include some exciting deals with collective buying sites, marketing for an original cabaret at the Philadelphia International Festival of Arts at the Kimmel Center, promoting facility rentals and children's birthday parties, and media work.   (Photograph copyrighted Philadelphia School of Circus Arts.
