XFINITY Live! made a splashy (and loud) debut when it officially opened its doors to the public Friday night (March 30th). Leading up to the opening, special fans got a preview tease of this new entertainment and dining complex when they attended the Bruce Springsteen concert and the Flyers game. By the time Friday arrived, hundreds — no thousands – of others wanted their own personal taste of Victory Beer Hall, PBR Bar & Grill, Bully’s and the Philly Marketplace.
At 4:00 PM, officials did the old fashioned official ribbon cutting and dedication of this dream project that would bring thousands of new revelers to the stadium district each year. Hours later the crowd swelled to capacity and lines started forming to see the main act. At 9:00 PM, Third Eye Blind took the stage and rocked South Philly with a big selection of hits from their catalog. Thousands filled the Marketplace, outdoor stage area, Victory’s outdoor patio and the parking lot.
The fun continues today, when XFINITY Live! opens at 10:00 AM, with Sunday Funday. At 11:00 AM, stop down and watch the Flyers, and at 12:30 PM join the Soul Pre-Game Party. At 3:00 PM, DJ Freezie brings the beats and shakes the floors. Free parking is available at the Wells Fargo Complex and NO TICKETS are necessary for admission. Must be 21+
Check out photos from the opening concert! I can’t wait to make XFINITY Live! a regular weekend staple!
