East Passyunk Avenue stirred up my appetite with a special preview of its annual food fest, Flavors of the Avenue. On Monday night, the food media and bloggers were invited to the amazing space inside Urban Jungle. Nearly a dozen EPA restaurants served up previews of what is to come at Flavors. It was also a great chance to get up close and personal with some of the Chef’s.
My favorite dishes of the night were from unexpected sources. I am a regular at FUEL and Stogie Joes, but had never ordered Stogie’s meatball sandwich nor had I ordered FUEL’s summer gazpacho. The big winner of the night was El Zarape and their Tacos Al Pastor. It was so tasty, in fact, I already went back for more after the preview! I can’t to try all three dishes at the main event, on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Check out my album of photos below – as well as the full scoop!
Flavors will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on East Passyunk Avenue. Twenty-one award-winning restaurants and bars will be on hand sampling their signature dishes and drinks under the cover of a big top tent, making the event rain or shine! Tickets are only $30 (or $25 TODAY ONLY, 4/19/2012) and include wine and craft beer.
