Big top fun comes to our favorite road trip destination as Nik Wallenda, holder of seven Guinness World Records, will “DO AC” on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 3:00 PM. The King of High Wire brings his death defying high wire act to the Jersey Shore, as he plans to walk the wire from Atlantic Club Casino Hotel to the Tropicana Casino & Resort. Come out and join the free family fun!
The people who brought us the jaw-dropping 3D light spectacle “Duality” to the Atlantic City boardwalk, the Atlantic City Alliance (ACA), have also made the historic boardwalk home to Wallenda’s first high wire walk following his feat at Niagara Falls. More than 50,000 people are expected to attend the event that will kick off the start of the six-week acrobatic spectacular performance “Beyond the Falls: Nik Wallenda and the Wallenda Family Experience” at the Tropicana Casino & Resort.
The perilous 1,500 foot walk is expected to take place in approximately 27 minutes, using only a 24 foot balance pole. No harness or other safety mechanisms will be in place. In the event of rain, the high wire walk will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012. This event is free and open to the public.
Stay tuned for more circus fun in Atlantic City as we take a road trip this fall to review “Beyond the Falls!”
