Did you hear? Santa is heading South this year! Holiday headquarters move from the North Pole to the heart of South Philly. East Passyunk Avenue, our favorite retail and dining spot, launches a new campaign to “Deck the Ave.” A month of activities includes something for everyone – kids, families, adults and even Fido!  Activities also are designed for every budget and every taste, too. Santa himself will turn up during a half dozen activities, ranging from a tree lighting extravaganza to an adult bar crawl. Join us as we sing, “Fa La La La La” and shop, stroll, eat and drink our way to the holidays…

Shop from Thursday, November 22 to Saturday, December 8, 2012 at participating East Passyunk Businesses. Every $10 spent on EPA during this time period is worth a chance to win a $100 shopping spree. Fun prizes for second and third place! Save your receipts and bring them to the EPABID Office (1904 EPA) on Second Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. East Passyunk Avenue spreads holiday cheer with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Party, complete with carolers from Alphabet Academy, music by students from Andrew Jackson School, a visit from Santa Claus, and free food/beverages from Black & Brew (hot chocolate), FOND/Belle Cakery (cookies and desserts), Paradiso/Izumi (sushi and bruschetta), Le Virtu (pasta), Stateside (adult spirits), Birra (pizza and meatballs) and Ms Goody Cupcake (cupcakes + treats).

Bring the kids down to meet Santa every Wednesday (6:00pm to 8:00pm) and Saturday (1:00pm to 3:00pm) in December. Take pictures with your own camera for free, or purchase a photo package printed on the spot, which range from $10-25.

Enjoy the most festive Second Saturday of them all, complete with strolling musicians, visits from Santa Claus, photos with Santa (+ pet photos too), Holiday Crafty Balboa craft show, Nice Things…Handmade ornament show, sales and specials, art openings and more. Eat, drink and be merry on East Passyunk Avenue! Join Santa as he gets his jolly on at 12 East Passyunk bars, pubs and restaurants. List includes Adobe Café, Birra, Bottle Shop, Cantina Los Caballitos, Le Virtu, Lucky 13, Noir Philadelphia, Paradiso, Pub on Passyunk East, South Philly Bar & Grill, Stateside and Stogie Joe’s. The $5 admission gets you $3 craft beers, $4 merry cocktails and $5 snacks (select locations), a Santa or Elf hat and Santa’s Sipping Stamp Card. Cards will be stamped with your purchase of every drink or food item, and after collecting 5 stamps, you’ll be entered to win a package of $300 in gift certificates from the participating bars and other great prizes.
